Carl Mergenthaler came to the United States, from Mexico when he was 17 years old. He moved directly to Texas, where he lived and worked on the Prairie Creek Ranch, which was host to many International Three Day Event competitions.

Although his heart was as a bull rider, he soon discovered that he had a talent for riding and training horses.

When Carl moved to California he began training horses professionally. The heart of his Philosophy comes down to CPR, Consistency, Patience and Repetition. In 1999 Carl and Charisse met. They teamed up and began teaching the Language of Horses clinics.

Carl’s forte with training is starting young horses and working with problem ones. Although he continues to train horses on a limited basis, he has taken his expertise with horses and put it into building Equestrian Facilities.
